Really, really, don't bother unless you're amping them. You still won't get great bass as they are 13cms !?
Yes the dash will have to come to pieces as the tweeters are in there...
If it was my car, I'd check the HU and see if you've got HPF/LPF. If it does, and it's bound to have at least...
Decent Alpine HU FTW. :D
Honestly, they may do, but it'll be so minimal it's not worth it. It's all down to the amp, which in this case is the one in the HU. Sony aren't amazing in my experience. High end Alpine or nowt IMO :o
Depends what sort of budget you're on ...
I got an £80 Fli 12"...
Fit a decent head unit which has frequency cutting (High/Low Pass Filtering) .. and fit a small sub in the boot if you so desire (I would!).
Did this on my 172, cut the low heavy stuff to the front speakers, and the sound was transformed. The front components are pretty good when they're not...
When were they last changed ? There should be a part of the pad that squeals when it's low !
For goodness sake, don't take it to KwikFit... you'll come out with new parts worth more than a brand new car !!
Oh I didn't have time for that, JD... It took long enough as woz.
Might have another one to do on Friday, blue 59plate A4 droptop... might attempt some before/afters !

It sounds rubbish.
I tried to get some vids the other night of it's noise pre-op, but housemate appeared to lose the ability to drive properly (and I don't trust him with the camera haha) and it was FAR too dark.
I will try again soon.. hopefully...!!
Well, I dun it !
Washed, dried then taped up. Polished with kit above (Menzerna polish and finisher), IPA wipedown, machined a coat of Black Hole, then a layer of Natty's Blue.

I think I understand what he's doing, trying work back to what you'd have to gain in power but stay the same weight, but I can't see the point TBH...
Just don't worry about it haha ! :o
Wut ?
Power to weight is simply the max power out, divided by the weight.
If the car weighs 1 tonne (1000kg) and has a max power output of 172bhp, it has a 172bhp/tonne power to weight ratio. If it weighs 600kg and has 120hp, it has 200bhp/tonne.
You don't get more power by losing weight...
Hmm yeah I guess that's quite a complex cage !!
Fuel hardly weighs anyway - a full 50l tank is only 37.5kg (Petrol is 0.75kg/litre)
Working out !?
172/0.96 = 179.166 bhp/ton
T'ain't rocket science chap ! :rasp:
Have you driven a Ph2 yet !?
Who/what do you use for email ? I've used Gmail for years now, and when I got my Desire 18 months ago, it linked seamlessly with the phone, calendar and contacts etc.. I don't use the HTC mail app, Gmail wanted to use another app so I let it get on with it.
I'm still impressed with it mind, it...
