the high amp alpines have a battery live for a very good reason as it has a big current draw. You need to wire it to the battery, its really really easy though!

Power ratings dont mean that much, you can send a clipped signal using no power and it will damage voice coils. It is all about how you set up the gains and without using a scope you can never be sure of not clipping...

you need to mask up the area you are going to FG, you canget really good stuff from www.cfsnet.co.uk (THey are FG suppliers)
then layer FG on to the part you wnat to make, once hardened remover then use filler to make smooth.
