If the motor's whirring, then surely it's not dead ?
Check you've not got low as sometimes they get all gunky. Good blast with the hose in the tank (washer fluid, not fuel haha) and see what happens....
If it's just the dash top you need (trust me, you dont want to go much further!!) it's just a few torx screws.
Couple on the side at the bottom of the A-pillars, and a few on top where the air comes out .. I think that's it ?
Keep searching for them until the top comes off freely...

I'm guessing the car is a few years old (first MOT is at 3 years IIRC?) so no real point speaking to Renault about warranty related work ?

I had the Halfords 50% brilliance ones in my Ph1 and they were a massive improvement over whatever was in there before... think the 90s were in the full beam.
Got a set of nightbreakers in the Scoob. Freakin' awesome... whatever was in there before wasn't allowing me to drive over about 8mph...
Today's conclusion was a two parter.
1 - dash conversion after a night out Rob style is hard work.
2 - a ph2 to ph1 front end conversion is probably easier. Tune in next week to find out which one wins.....
