I took the switch apart and it consists of a ball bearing and magnet. A large knock is required to dislodge the ball bearing breacking the circuit and cutting the fuel out.
On inspection some small clips in side were damaged/snapped which suggests it had been previously...
As previsouly said check all ignition euipment. Also check your battery earthing point, check all fuses as well.
Might be worth getting a fault code reading from your ECU.
On a car your age you prob should change all the shock now anyway so get that done. Any joints and buses that have play in them, get them replaced. Once you have done this test drive and see if it solves your problem, if not go for the new rack, thats how i'd work it.

In order for my car to start again we had to bridge the connection for the short term.

I guess it comes down to what type of styling you like. I think the Corsa appeals to younger people.

I had a friend who fitted new disc and pads, then he went out and did a series of 100-0 stops! Much to his suprise his disc's warped and he glazed the pads making them useless, idiot.
Just slowlt bed them in first.
Wow im really impressed with the 197 results, looks like most of them are running close to 200bhp!
Sounds like the rollers were very well set up.
Just proves a few breathing mods can give you the edge.
Just a little update.
I replaced the battery and it seems to have fixed the problem. Think the cold killed the battery off.
All is well now and its runing sweet as a nut!
