Doing the cambelt isn't that bad if you have the correct tools and go strictly by the manual. Official Renault workshop manual can be found on here. I would lend you my tools but postage to Australia and back might be a tad expensive.
If the cambelt snapped it is advised to renew all valves...
Excessive failure caused by what? Ride height too low?
I have highsports in my non sport for about 50k miles and they are still spot on. No, roads are not better over here. Also know a few people who never had any problems with highsports.
Had the same problem on mine after stripping it out. Removing the adjusters will make it too low and you probably lose the pretension of the springs. Different springs (rear) are not available afaik. I solved the problem by using the rear adjusters from some AP coilovers i still had in the shed...
Take the cheapest. Numbers are load index, t = 190 kph max speed, h = 210 kph max, xl = extra load.
Wouldn't choose Nankangs btw. Get something decent. 195/50 r15s might be cheaper aswell.
