yes mate, i believe they are bigger discs, mine is currently running standard brakes.... new discs and uprated pads but it stop so much smoother and better, they were spongy at first, still are a bit now but will need burning in after a good few hundred miles.
im thinking about getting 16v...
lol... cant beat it being lower, ben, i didnt half t**t the speed bump coming in to work before, very loud clunk, going to get my dogbone mount and auxy belt sorted, going to order them now. also get the brakes bled and that dodgy indicator sorted :)
get loow!
all sorted now, very very smooth braking, got some halfrauds discs and ferodo pads, sooo smooth all the noise has gone, thanks to biff for sorting it! :)
you should have seen the state of the pads, one was angled due to un even wear and also was braking in the actual metal back housing plate...
well, it depends tim lad, i want to get all the other bits and bobs sorted first like, needs a new auxillary belt, dogbone mount and new green/itg panel filter.... after that i can then get wheels and zaust etc :)

i have a 1.4 8v in my rt also, mines a 94.... will easy get 30 miles out of the tank when on red and that is with some ragging... my gauge is fooked seems like everyone elses is, if i drove normally and slow (which i dont tend to do) i reckon 100 miles to a tenner is easily reachable.... going...

definately fronts, can hear it with windows down mate.... makes a horrid noise and you can feel in vibrate in the car, though pedals etc...
it even makes a slight rubbing noise when driving normally, just dont know what it might be!
- Giles - It aint lowered enough yet ;)
ok... well i lowered my car yesterday with the help of Biffons_Bridge (cars a 1.4rt), lowered it -60mm on front and finishing the torsion bar today.... Right, under braking i get a quite loud scraping/grinding noise, sounds like 2 things rubbing together, maybe a stone in the caliper or...
