    re: 172 -12k service

They must have forgotten the filter - they like to change it as often as they can as it costs ££££££ and they add it on to your bill.

Is anyone eles Miffed at the silver cup

Yep, and damn fine it looks too. I was disappointed that I couldnt have that colour on my Mk2.
  3. telford_mike

    Hmmmmmmmm

Silver or chrome on a black car I reckon.
  4. telford_mike

Is anyone eles Miffed at the silver cup

If you buy a silver Cup, does it still have the vivid blue interior?
  5. telford_mike

Is anyone eles Miffed at the silver cup

LOL - you should worry! To start with the original 172 was only available in Silver, then after about 6 months they decided to supply it in a choice of loads of different colours. Sunflower Yellow Cup anyone?

    NOS FOR CUP

If anyone does manage to fit one of these kits to a 172, perhaps youd take a few pics and send a fitting guide for Jas to publish on the main site.

    All 172 Owners

Thats a good site - according to this page http://www.pumaracing.co.uk/trans.htmhttp://www.pumaracing.co.uk/trans.htm a standard 172 should make 144.8bhp at the wheels. Most of them do!

    Cup Dealer Price

Might be better off paying a bit more and getting a standard 172. Bigger discounts seem to be available.

    Pain in the ass

Try posting in our Wanted forum.
  10. telford_mike

    All 172 Owners

Its probably the same for all cars. Bhp at the flywheel is totally meaningless anyway.
  11. telford_mike

    Speed

3rd 88.9mph (measured by timing beam at York Dragway!). 4th, about 116 I think.

    My RT + 15inch Wheels....

If you post a pic of your car Im sure somebody will do a photoshop impression :)
  13. telford_mike

    Clear Rear Clusters

No, they look good on silver IMO. Thats a good price.
  14. telford_mike

    All 172 Owners

145 - 150 is about right (at the wheels) for a standard car.

    Stale fuel

Its more likely to be associated with the length of time that the fuel has been in the tank at the petrol station. If they dont sell much Optimax it could have been there for ages. Ive never had to have 3 goes to start the car - maybe the hot weather has something to do with it?

    ktec cat replacement!!!

It wont cure the 4k rattle either - thats in the centre section. You need to replace the exhaust to fix that - get a Magnex or k-tec cat-back system.

    Two stage accelerator on cup...

I dont think the click does anything at all. The ECU senses when the throttle is wide-open - its not the click that tells it.

    Zymol Competition - WINNER

Damn! I was really banking on winning this. Ah well, back to the Fairy liquid.

    Trip computer

If the orange fuel light isnt on youre safe. The gauge is a pessimist.
  20. telford_mike

    Trip computer

Agreed - its good - much better than the fuel guage. Oh and welcome by the way!! :)
  21. telford_mike

    17 Wheels

about 60mm, but you need to get exactly the right wheels - ET37.

    HID Lights in 172

    A somewhat extreme solution!
  23. telford_mike

    HID Lights in 172

I looked at this before the Europe trip in April - couldnt find an answer that I liked so didnt bother. I think we had about 30 Clios on that trip and not a single one had beam deflectors!
  24. telford_mike

    Finally!

Nice one. Had a 1.9 RTD in that colour - our first Clio.

    Still Twitchy

Looked pretty twitchy on the TV on Sunday when the Stig stuffed it into the weeds in the pouring rain. I doubt this would be a big issue for us mere mortals though. I really think that expecting a mid-engine pocket-rocket to handle like your average FWD hot-hatch is expecting a bit much.

    The forgotten wow!!

Its not just the cooling though - the CC dehumidifies the air and generally improves your quality of life - the aircon still does its job even when the heaters on in winter.
  27. telford_mike

    17 Wheels

LOL - nothing like brevity. You can fit 17"s, and it will look ridiculous if you dont lower it. 60mm seems to be the most popular drop.
  28. telford_mike

    The forgotten wow!!

I just leave the CC on 24/7/365 - set it and forget it!
  29. telford_mike

    The forgotten wow!!

Tonight you can look forward to the nightmare that is keeping it clean and polished!
  30. telford_mike

    Seats.

There are people (cant remember who) who have put the 172 interior into a Clio 16v. Took a bit of doing apparently but well worth the effort.
