Insurance quote sounds good to me!
As long as you can afford the monthly repayments on the car as well tho!!
It does annoy me thinking that all that money is coming out of my account every month, but then a quick spin in my Cup changes my mind pronto! :)

I wouldnt say you were getting old, i would just say there are a lot of idots that drive those cars who think they are cool!
Agreed.
But Saxo and cool in the same sentance, pahh!

I enjoy driving it and do love the car, but I do appriciate at the end of the day its really is just a Clio with a bigish engine, its still badly put together and unreliable. However you cant get quicker for the same money (Im talking new...
I know how you feel, salesmen can be complete tools!!
Luckily never really had that response myself, but often when going with mates to look at cars they have given the big you cant afford this car/insurance speech.
Fine Ill go to the next garage and afford it there!
Got the filter also, does the job nicely.
I was thinking of going for a custom cat back next, but not sure whether to go Powerflow or not, some people have said theyre so good, others say theyre crap!

I know exactly what you...
They are great.... but its icey out there today, so try to take it easy, at least until you know the limits of the car a bit better!!
Congrats on the purchase and good luck with it!!
182blue:
I fancy getting those exact those cup 172 ones that you had, but on JustMatz they dont seem to have Cup 172 as a logo option, how did you explain to them what u wanted?
And are they classic, deluxe, or executive?
And whats the differences between them? Apart from colours...
Elephant were a rip off for me too (over 4k), Im 22 with 1 years no claim bonus and driving since I was 17.
Try direct line and tescos they were the cheapest quotes I got.

LOL!!!! No they change my hole dial center at reno, i was on 13,800 before they changed it..... Now sits at 1,400
Surely Reno should have changed the reading as the car has still covered those miles?
Still all good for you I...

Mine rolled over to 1400 (yes 1,400) :p
Do you only drive it to the local shop and back once a week?? lol.
Mines now on 16400 I tend not to worry about the milage, I do 250 miles a week to work and back plus all the extra...
Focus [shudder]
I think the Racing Pumas look smart and are suppose to be a damn good drive, but well its all said and done, its a bit girly, even more so than a clio!! lol
You dont buy a clio sport for build quality, you buy it because you want all the fun of driving a hot hatch for as little price as possible!!
Id recommended a 172 / 182 any day of the week!

At the end of the day thats what your insurance is there for ... and 2k is lot to pay out. You should be guaranteed a good job as well and the car should be pretty much back to the way it was and the way you want it.
True.

welcome, i was quoted less for a cup than a normal 172 for some reason !!
Weird everywhere quoted me more, the range was quite large as normal with insurance quotes.
Im with direct line and if I remember rightly it was about £60...

as in if i pay 2k now for it to be fixed outa my pocket then i still got insurence to pay for but if i claim off insurence then ive got ther insurnce to pay for which soposedly will be £1500 about and ive then got the insurence paid...
As long as your insurance allows you to take out airbags.
If you have no airbag where there should be one as standard on that model then you are driving without insurance anyway!
Call your insurance company and say youre thinking of putting it bucket seats and see what they say.
Defo tell them its a Cup, mine was a bit more expensive for the "cheap" version, maybe because we saved on the car we just have to pay it out more on insurance!
Doesnt make it cheap then does it? :p
Clearly its better and thats why it costs more to insure :o
Cheers guys!
Why increased for motorway driving?? What difference would this have on taking corners?
I do long roads to work and back, but then like to have fun at night / weekend by throwing it around a bit, so best sticking with the manual pressures I guess!
