They look like a wider offset than the trophy alloys.
If you look at Fletchers 172 for example his trophy alloys look more set into the arches - yours looks like mine and mine are cup alloys.

I suggest you leave the car as it is if unclipping a hose which you have been told several times is perfectly safe and won't damage your engine is too much for you!
I agree regarding the 172- 182.
I went for a 172 after looking at several 182s - I couldn't justify the extra outlay for the 182.
If I had my time again I'd probably go for a cup over the 172 I have because I still love that blue! but then somedays I'd much rather have mine.
But do you like it enough to drive it around everywhere keeping an eye out for the local plitzbobs?
I'm genuinely interested, it might be me but none of my other car enthusiast mates could give a toss if the number plate looks better with 2cm lopped off it.

172 on 16" turinis and 195's for reference.
