yip, imo the easisest way. no hassle with the subframe but you should have a crane, box and engine are heavy as f**k. refitting is easy too. finish the engine, put the gearbox on and drop it into the bay. setting the timing etc. is far easier to do with the engine apart. do it!
i did not mean the spark plugs, i meant the plug of the tdc. tdc is often causing starting problems as said above. check the fastchip.nl hp for a manual for the 172, the tdc resistance is stated there.
here you go mate!

best 15" wheel imo
throttle sensor (tps) is located in the throttle body, speed sensor (tdc sensor!?) is located below the thermostat housing pointing at the flywheel. starting issues are often tdc sensor/-plug related!
1. droning noise could also be the tires!?
2. did you reassemble the little spacer/washer thing behind the brake disc on the stub axle?
3. I wouldn´t exchange the bearing itself, should be cheaper using complete aftermarket discs with rings and bearings. Obviously replace both.
cam plugs off, bring piston 1 to tdc and pin the crankshaft through a hole in the front of the block. then put the horseshoe on and have a look. keep in mind, that you need a new set of cam seals!
Re: Clio 182 cup - after 6 hour detail
clean! if it has both cup packs it is a FF (fullfat) not a cup. CS police says: there is no cup like a 172 cup ;)
there is a fan sitting on the sensor which gets "play" with time and starts to buzz. the fan is activated when the ignition is turned on. you could try to exchange the actual key part from your keys to have the second fob in perfect position for the receiver. whats your battery voltage when...
i don´t think there is any paperwork for the scorpion exhaust. do you need to register any mods in france (like TUEV approval)? if so, you need a exhaust with homologation (E-no., permission like a TUEV-paperwork). Registration of the car itself should be possible with a certificate of permanent...
and another RHD working on the continent! For the people that will be confused: these little cars are f***ing expensive over here (double the price) and driving a RHD isn´t that bad!
