My rear silencer fell of my 172 MkII a while back and the whole car vibrated and sounded like a machine gun,... but seemed a lot slower; strangled.
Mate works for Renault, head of workshop and says no damage to the engine will result from running without it,.. so if you...
Today at lunchtime, by Burger King and going to centre/tescos... I was in the black 172, a little hurried; late for a pub lunch appt.
P.S. I am a driving God!
Seems, fingers crossed, that i'ved sorted it. Gonna regret saying that I know. Had a proper old wiggle of the wires,.. then some more, then some more. My mate who works for Bridges Renault in Newbury rang me, so I asked him his view. He said wires under the seat; the wires that are connected at...
dutty - the definition of a chav, according to the OED is:
'a young lower-class person typified by brash and loutish behaviour and the wearing of [real or imitation] designer clothes'.

Cheers,

mine's been doing this intermittently; gonna have a butchers under my seat tomorrow.
Was reading a thread about the gear stick light coming on before you hit the rev limiter in the 172 MkII, and sure enough today when I was proving if the gearstick icon illuminated (it did) the serv and...
When I bought the car (fullfat MkII) it read 32mpg, and that week it increased to 37mpg. Having re-set it and started to drive like my old self again ( ambulance driver + blue lights ) I've been getting 35-36mpg from 3 weeks of combination driving over approx 1200 miles. That's with climate on...
MKII looks so much more modern, the MkI has silly little front lights. IMO the MkII has a much more flowing line, and as above the MkI has an inferior dashboard and what... no climate?! eeck, don't know how you kids manage ha ha
