wheels have a few scuffs on the front ones - tyres are avons on rear, kumas on the front - tread is very good and the wheels are unisport; kinda bright gun metal - were on it when i got the car about a month ago...
Please someone...
apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I would like to purchase or swap to acquire four renault 16" wheels, with tyres preferably... Really want to return my car to looking standard.
Would pay or if someone wanted to swap their OEM wheels for mine that'd be grand. My wheels are in...
I'm prepared to spend eff all.
Keeping my full fat mkII 172 off the pages of MAX Power is priceless!
i'm still toying with replacing the 17" drugdealer wheels the car came with (a lot of people have told me they love the wheels) for the original 16" rims. But can't be bothered, and they...
larger diameter wheels (inclusive of tyre) will increase top speed, but reduce acceleration rate - slightly.
Surely unless the dish of the wheel is wrong, the track will be virtually unchanged?
Can't be arsed to even read the rest of that ****
32f 30r, always make sure I check them when tyres are fully cold... Don't drive the car to the petrol station to check the pressure!
I run a 172 mkII full fat, does anyone know what pressures Renault recommend?
why not just buy a bigger engine 172 engines are cheaper than 1200 big boys, as long as all the ancillaries and ECU came with it you'd be alright wouldn't you?
yeah, my 3 series had this, and I really miss it on the 172. But they weigh more than a length of metal don't they - could keep going and going with improvements till the clio weighs as much as a bimmer - who wants that though?
mobil 1 is the best you'll get, mine was filled with this at 36k service by renault. That's if you don't hold a grudge against Exxon for that spillage back in the day
renault charge £30. My local foreign boys will do it for 15, but they don't know the difference between a scirroco or a polo - I had to look up the figure for my 3 series last time (and when checked by bimmer dealer, was found to be incorrect) ... Really don't think they'd have my car on their...
my mk2 172 is the same; off a few degrees counter clockwise - had the tracking checked at main dealers on fri when serviced - nothing wrong, tracking was bang on! Wheel still looks wrong though. WEIRD
My understanding of services and warranties is that you have your service done at a main stealer, but say do not do anything else, then pop over to the indie who does any other work needed, with your warranty intact.
First service should be around 180-200 notes. My 36k on my 172 mkII on...
My 2001 172 full fat started sounding a bit noisy on Sunday... Found the rear silencer had dropped; it's mounting had come away from the silencer. So being a Sunday night and needing the car for work I tied it up using rope. (Car's already booked in for service on friday - with fingers crossed I...
Mines standard other than the 17s,.. Didnt effin want the wheels in the first place! Just couldnt find a full fat MkII better than this one for the money and without travelling 130 miles for a viewing....
Cheers buddy
All fingers do seem to point to your alternator,
however, you can get your battery tested at Halfords for free - good service too. Next Id check every electrical connection; removing, cleaning and WD40ing them as you go, especially earth straps!
If all the above doesnt help, then Id look at...
Cheers Dan. Its out of warranty but my mate works for renault, allbeit 200 miles south of me...
Does anyone else find the 172 in standard form noisy at speed?
