Swapped out my main drive on the PC yesterday for a Samsung 970 Evo (thanks again @adamlstr (y))
I've attached some performance stats of the difference in speed, not only with my previous M.2 drive - but for comparison, my 2x 2.0TB 7.2K SATA drives in RAID0. Pretty impressive improvement...
The other possibility (and apologies if this sounds a bit patronising) is to check on the drivers themselves.
Creative say that I have the latest ones on their website. Yet a simple check here revealed and installed much newer ones from Creative. Be wary of 'Microsoft official' ones too -...
That in itself is more than enough reason to get a G-Sync monitor. It really is one of those situations within an FPS where the output more than justifies the outlay.
Be a little open minded when it comes to G-Sync. You're still at the mercy of how well devs actually create the game that's in front of you. I've had occasional games that play a lot more smoothly with G-Sync switched off and a manual V-Sync applied. Although rare, it does happen. That said...
With regards to the sound issue, it could simply be driver related - though that's never always fixed issues completely. Having had various Creative Labs cards going way back to the SoundBlaster 16 ASP, I did experience a lot of clipping with a card years ago. As a temporary measure, I switched...
Any thoughts in general about a noise I can hear on my car, guys?
Unless it's one of those weird travelling-noise issues, I am 99% convinced that the noise is coming from the rear of the car, when I'm driving it. Under gradual, slow braking - say coming up to a set of red lights, I can hear an...
Despite not having washed it for 4+ months (to which I feel genuine shame!) - I don’t think I even qualify in this thread, compared to others.
The badges can still be read for a start....
Used to know the lad who's family had the farm on the corner of Lumb Lane - that backs onto the old Littlemoss High School/now academy.
David Cook was his name - was i my class at school. One of my other classmates moved onto Woodleigh Drive too, which could be the same street you're mentioning?
You've a whole batch of issues going on there - lol. The clipping noise will likely be down to the bus getting saturated with data - there are too many resources/devices trying to buy time from the system (CPU & memory) and the whole thing simply isn't coping.
What mode do you currently have...
I know Littlemoss - I was originally penned to go to Littlemoss High School back in '86 when I was leaving primary school, though ended up going to Stamford High School. Both have been demolished now from what I can gather?
I was in Crowhill, near where the current Curzon Ashton football club...
Probably because they were trying to be all 2019 about it and making a 'they' or a 'them' controller. After all, we've heard of the thousands of female gamers that are up in arms about the blatant masculinity and phallic representations of the standard XBox and PlayStation controllers, haven't...
A shame in a way that they bagged off bots from the BF series. Quite good fun on BF2142 and very handy at allowing you to learn the quite tricky aerial transport controls - rather than plummet 5+yourself into the ground in a flaming death.
If you crack the 'stupid AI' conundrum - you'll be an instant multi-millionaire! It's the bane of most single-player/co-op games, especially within FPSs. In the RTS genre, it can appear quite intelligent at times.
Part of me would however still prefer a leisurely play-through of a round with...
Finished the War Stories last night. Quite moving and evocative with the text written at the end of each one. Good to see you playing as the Germans in one of them - especially reflecting on the hopelessness of the situation by the end of WW2.
Now if I could only find one other person on Planet...
That's the essence of these games - but I do think they have lost their way. We are still burdened with the cosmetic crap that makes no odds to the game whatsoever. Do I give a toss that some sniper bloke has head-shotted me from 200m, but had the ultra rare giraffe-combo jungle skin on his...
Had my first online experience of BFV last night.
Joined that squad-option where it appears to be four-a-side. New map, unknown kit - just jumped onto a squad-mate with a passing Sherman tank (obviously a sitting duck in the turret on top). Drove around a bit, made a couple of the other side...
I wouldn't take it to heart - it's a long-running comment that we have on here that crops up every now and then.
Just like anthracite being referred to as amphacite.
I'd also question the necessity of games that are single player only (or predominately) to be totally reliant on streaming? On the rare occasion that the internet connection has gone down - you've at least got something else to have a dabble with in the meantime. And if I actually think about it...
