Re: Audi R8 Crash..
Thats horrific!! There are putting wire in the central reservations in some areas. Crewe bypass has them ans does some of the A55 on Anglesey. They seem a lot safer although i would worry bout the wire cutting the car in half!!!!
just did a quick measure. its dark, cold and parked on a slope so these are very approximate!!!
Front : 8cm
Back : 4cm
hope this helps!!!
Just realised i measured to the tyre, will go measure again!
Thanks again, the pics will be really helpful. was cosidering having another go at it today, but the snow kind of put me off. Plus i have done enough car fixing today!! Topped up the brake fluid and diagnosed that my battery is on the way out. Bloody french cars, but i still love it!!!
I see what you mean, think thata going to be my best bet. I may do it the other way round, ie. Put some soapy water all over the area for the top of the car. Then blow air from the whole in the boot and look for bubbles. Bit like repairing a bike inner tube puncture!!!
I can get compressed air on monday, go see my old boss as they have an air compressor for the tyres on the loading shovels. He won't mind if they haven't shut for xmas already!!!
Photos would be amazing, what do you mean the top corner. Do you mean the bit in the red box that you drew earlier...
Nitromors
Cheap and easy, think it will work fine. Depends on the paint really!!
Don't really want it on your skin but if you do just wash it of with water so not to serious iirc!!
Yeah, my mate sat in the car today and i poured water on diffrent parts. It made it leak but it wasn't obvious which bit it was leaking from. I can't see anywhere.
The red spare it where the water beads and then drips. The black square is highlighting the panel its coming from under. There...
I have been trying to solve this for about 2 hours today, and absolutely no luck. I'm 90 percent sure its not the rubber wire things at the top of the boot. I just can't work it out. Is there anywhere i can find a detailed drawing of how the metal sheets that make up the rear end go together...
Mine has just started doing this, but only when i turn the car on, release the handbrake and they both stay on but when i pull away they go off! Bit strange but the low fluid would make sense if the brake fluid sensor works how i think it does, as i park in a slight hill at night????
^^ Cheers i will get on it, haven't had time tonight, but going to tomorrow. I have checked the roof it seems fine. However the boot seal seams a little lose (the bit in the red square, but i don't think its that!)
Cool cheers, i will give them a call, if anyone on here know tho that would be cool. I may just spray them all a different colour, will prob take an age tho!!!
Don't think i will remove them then, there are other places i think i need to check first. Off to my mates in a minute to see if i can find it. Wish me luck, i will let you know if i find it.
I thought it was coming from up there as well because it was wet, but there was a bit of sponge in the gap that absorbed the water, so once i took that out it was easier to find the actual leak (if that makes sense?)
Im worried bout sealing it until i find the source as i don't want it pooling...
Also lbrench if you have any part time jobs going for a broke student that mean he will earn enough to buy a 200 then i would be more than happy to help!!!!!!:D
I am confused, is it only classed as a mod if its a 200 with cup pack added, but if you buy a 200 cup then that's fine as the 200 cup comes standard with cup suspension so is not a factory upgrade? (this is presuming you can even get a 200 with cup pack because i am very confused)
Haha, yeah i know what you mean, i got my hand pretty stuck last night trying to find out where the f**k that went.
Are you sure it id def coming from up there cos thats where i thought mine was leaking but it was actually coming from the join next to it! (the join is in the very top left of...
Looks really tidy, especially for 170k, +1 on how are the shocks?
If its been a company car and done that sort of mileage, then i am guessing it has had regular servicing and spent most of its life on a motorway? If so the engine should be fine still imo!!
enjoy it and forget about the mileage!
Well done mate, if i had the money i would do the same!!! (my insurance would be less tho :o) Work hard, play hard and all that!!
It sounds amazing black car, black wheels etc... nice!
I didn't realise it was a lower group!! Plus my cup is worth nothing compared to a 200 (i don't completely understand how insurance premiums work) I thought that if the cars value was higher then it would cost more to insure?
