could be the connector for the pedal unit, sits near the clutch-pedal (black and yellow connector). try cleaning/soldering the connection. if thats not sorting it, its time for proper diagnosis at a specialist
referring to the renault 172 workshop manual, the limiter is based upon water temp and not on oil temp, so could be a sticking thermostat... or its just not warm enough
You probably need an CoC (Certificate of Conformity) for the cup. Ask Renault UK! The German MOT bka TUEV should be able to do a "Vollabnahme" (Full Check) as they did it with my 172 when i imported it from UK to Germany. The VINs are registered in their System and they should get a data sheet...

on stock suspension you can only align the front toe. but if toe or camber on the rear is to far out the axle could be bent. camber adjustment on the front is possible with camber bolts. get the tracking done...
