Can't see anything in the two looks wise on Silver. EGP is not as clear looking as the Jeffs on my Black Gold.
After washing you can easily add more Jeffs coat takes 10 mins tops.
EGP may have the edge in durability 1 layer vs 1 layer - but as you said you can easily apply 3 to 4 in the same time as it takes to do one. I seem to be using my EGP up on wheels alone, Jeffs AGT for the ease of use every time for me.

Clean the trim well first with some Megs All Purpose cleaner or Einszett Plastic Cleaner before dressing, then as Alan says rub the trim gel in well and buff off any excess with a clean cloth.

Aks the painter, some say 30-60 days before waxing/sealing to allow any gasses to escape.
Polishing can be done straight away as long as it is a pure sealant/wax free polish.
Individual parts that can be baked properly should be fine to polish and wax straight away.
I used the Megs Aggressive one on Silver X5 on Sat - Brazo was Rotarying the car after so there was no concern of it marring. Even that struggled on some of the contamination. Not sure how much marring it would cause on a darker colour though. If you do go down that route I would have something...
