I would think twice about using a Chamois - Fake or real on Black Renault Paint, it marrs easily enough even with soft microfiber towels. Filtered water and no drying at all works better - streak free and no swirls.
Because understeer from the front is less likely to end in tears than oversteer from the back which is harder to correct - Hence the advice to have the best tyres on the rear.

I always clay the car wet after washing.
Wash and Rinse the car.
Take the wash mitt and some car wash and re wet the panel
Then using some car shampoo and water in a spray bottle ( 2-3 Capfulls to 5-600ml) Spray the panel and clay away.
Quick wipe over the panel again with the mitt if need...

I would just wash with a strong wash solution, maybe the odd spritz of 1/10 APC, clay and polish. It is what things like that esp. Fairy may do to the rest of the parts other than the paint, drying rubber seals etc.
Polish and seal with Autoglym Super resin and Extra Gloss Protection ( 2 or 3 layers), follow that with a dedicated wheel wax if you like (not really needed part from for added looks - plus are easy to throw on a coat after a wash) - Poorboys or Swissvax are cleaner free so wont strip of the...
