The ones Halfords do are subtle, postcode and logo is ghosted out lightly and very small so the plates look very plain.

Alex @ SP does Duragloss wash in gallons if the size is a concern.

Onyx is around 40 quid, should give a couple of months durability.

The shampoo Plus gives decent suds, and cleans well. The likes of Duragloss do the above and leave a better finish. For Carnuba finishes I am finding Swissvax Car Bath to maintain the finish better still.

Claying cleans of stuck on contamination washing alone wont, basically anything stuck to the paints surface. The Machine polishing will remove any below the surface defects such as scratches and swirl marks. Even if there are not defects like above the PC will restore gloss to the paintwork...

Soapy water should sort it, if not something like Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner

There are a few people on here that do this full time, 100 quid to machine polish a car is too cheap if your doing that for a full time income.

Give them a scrub first with some Meguiars APC or deep clean with Einszett Plastic Cleaner first.

How are you applying it ? Rub it well in, allow it to stand, reapply some more if the finish is not even then buff really well with a cloth. What are you using to clean the trim first before applying it ?

Feel the paintwork, if it feels rough then claying will be worth while.

The Chemical Guys all have things in them to produce a better finish, shame they like to streak so easily. I would not use LAst Touch as I final product QD, but for drying and general use in between layers of polish, wax, claying, drying and as a general use QD it is the best one out there.

You will need something before the AG Bumper care to actually remove the marks as this will just cover them up. I use Einszett Plastic Cleaner first - http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/

As above after washing stick you hand in a plastic sandwich bag and feel what the paint surface is like.

Detail Spray is meant for very light dust. The Megs Final Touch does not have wax in it, but will restore gloss after a wash.

I have some that is 2 or 3 years old which is still fine after a good shake here.

http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/ sell there version of it and the gallon size Last Touch Quick Detailer. I would not use the QD to replace a wash though on anything more than very light dust.

Got rid of the ingrained grime nicely. Nice work.

Out of the two I would pick the Shampoo Plus, that said although it is my bulk normal use shampoo I would choose others over it for the 182.
