It pushes more air and fuel into the engine > more power. To achieve this there is a fan powerered by the exhaust gasses that the engine produces - hence the power for the fan (turbo) is free. Im sure someone can give a better explanation though.

I think this depends on how demanding you are. For the ordinary joe (or the ordinary telford_mike for that matter) its fine. Nice sound, nice and easy to use - the steering column control is really good. However there are lots of folk wholl doubtless be ripping the whole lot out and...

Believe it or not the standard head unit in a Mk 2 172 is a(nother) CD! Dont know about the autochanger, did someone say it was an Alpine??
