Working by hand address any visable defecs and swirl marks with Meguiars Scratch X, Polish with Autoglym Super Resin, Seal with a couple of coats of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection, Also concider the optional step of using a cleaner/polish free Carnuba wax to improve looks further such a P21s...
206 180's are a pain to sell (due as you have found dur to them being a little bit poo!) everytime the local dealership gets one in they sit there for months.
Other than pricing it cheap there as there is not a real demand on them and adversting it wherever you can not sure what to suggest...
The Menzerna's tend to correct on a polishing pad without the need for a cutting pad in some cases.
You should always try a polish on a polishing pad first.
The Menzerna range to consider (different sizes are available)...
Good call on the speed of the passes eddie (arm speed not machine speed) - how fast you move the machine is very important. 1 inch per second is talkied about a fair bit. Keep the arm speeds low and the machine speeds up.
Bad advice IMO!
It is fine to polish new paint, chances are it will have been polished after painting. Most jobs need a light flat even on little areas and being polished after.
It is bad to seal or wax it unless advised ok by the painter. Would not use SRP on it though as it polishes and...
The SSR will just start to dust if worked long enough, you will get used to it and be able to stop before this. I would look at the Menzerna's rather the 83 IMO. Though in the meantinme, a few more passes of the 2.5 must work it.
Also how much polish are you using? There are so many variables...
Drying I use the above Sonus Towels or Micropak Ultra Softs.

Work the SRP a panel at a time as you describe.
Indeed, looks poor in dull light and nothing special even in bright sun. Seen it on a couple of 182's and on a Scenic - Never seen it in a light that I thought looked nice.
Rare for a reason and not just the price ( all imo of course!)
Must be thin enough then. Is a pain to apply thinly on Silver easy on Black.
Make sure you lave it long enough before removal I always leave it at least an hour. Longer it stays on the easier it wipes off for me.
All much of a muchness as long as you don't get aggressive ones.
The Meguiars Quick Clay works well enough from Halfords or look into the Sonus Clay http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-clay/cat_9.html
Panel at a time with the P21s, wipe on and wipe off.
For the EGP, apply it to the whole car as thin as you can, allow it to cure for an hour and then remove with a microfiber.
