Morning all, got a dumb question for you. Having never attempted to lower a clio before, i wondered if you chuck the eibach springs on a mk2 172 do you need to adjust the torsion bar and if it a) affects the warranty b) puts your insurance up by a great deal.

No, it shouldnt. Just give the alloys a wipe over after. Did find that when we took my Sisters BFs modded mini to a trackday caused a bit of slipping when throwing it into a corner, no idea if it does the same on the road.
Suppose that all clio seats are bolted down the same regardless of model (Sis has a new dynam and im waiting for a 172), just that i heard that its easier to take out the seats and run the cables for amps etc by the xaust tunnel to the rear. Just that my siss car seems to have round bolt...
Has anyone attached a shiny new splitter to thier 172. Or taken a Cup one and attached to a 172. Does the 172 have one anyway?
Basically, i like the idea of a splitter but dont want one of the Halfords one fits all horrid plastic stick on things.

What should a 172 come with (other than keys & 4 wheels;)), isnt it supposed to have a luggage net in the boot, does it come with anything else? Also, what should you look out for in the first few months of ownership.
Orded mine at the end of Aug and just made the cut off for the new additions. Dealer in Maidenhead said it wasnt supposed to get be released until the 1st of sept! Well see if theyre blagging in about 3 weeks!! Oh the agony of waiting
They are 30mph i think. Jeremy clarkson on Topgrear showed a few mashed up cars in the second series. Some were so bad i made you think, Damn im never getting in one of those.

On the 172/cup bumpers (maybe all new shape clios) they have a square cover under both lamps. Any idea what they are for, are they where washers once lived or crash sensors for the airbags?? Answers on a post card!!!
Well i like my creature comforts, so i went for the 172. Each to his own. Is the set up totally different or would it be a case of just swapping the bits around and hey presto, a nice tight 172?? Or do people put strut braces on 172s (new to clio tuning)??
Is there a really noticable difference in the hanlding or is that the 172 may have been a bit older and softer round the edges??
If not , how difficult is it to upgrade the 172s kit??

Theres a spray foam that a friend uses on his cars. He fills the door cavitys, holes and pretty much any void in the car with the stuff. Makes a car sound like a MERC when you close the doors and in the car sounds like you in a limo its so quite.
Will ask him when i see him what its called.
Has anyone made a list of what rattles on a new clio, how to get to them, what size wrench or hammer you need and whats likely to squeek. Im due to get my new 172 in under a month now and these rattle stories havent put me off, just want to know if there is anything you can do to stop or prevent...
Waiting for a 172. For Half a second i think ill stick with me ABS, Climate, Spare Wheel, and tell the bird she can walk while i drive and save weight that way!!:D
Got my 172 in blue and still have 4 weeks of the 10 week sentance to go. Feckers told me it would be about a month!!!!!
Has anyone got any contacts with anyone at renault that matters??? After reading through a lot of posts over the last month or so, it seems to be apparent that renault garages aint to hot at Renaultsport problems/servicing.
Maybe its time renault opened dedicated service centres for Rsport...
Ladies and Gentleman, on your new Clio 172s etc how many miles did you do before giving it a good test drive. Renault recommend about 700 miles keeping under 3500rpm to loosen them up. Ive read stories they dont really loosen up for a few 000 miles, but didnt want to go and trash my new motah...
