Picked up my shiny new 172 on saturday and took it for a nice long drive. Firstly, trying to keep below 4k revs is an absolute ar5e, i find myself looking at the counter and with realising am doing 60 in 40 zone!!! Below 4k, performance is pretty good, and am so looking to maybe giving it a bit...
Just 24 little hours till i pick my Blue (Extra 5 brake) 172 up tomorrow. Hope it isnt p1ssin it down in the afternoon when i get off the forecourt so i can have a little fun with it. Its just like christmas all over again!!!!! Watch out all clio drivers in the Maidenhead/slough/windsor area...
Changing the direction of the thread slightly, but does it matter if its motorway miles or street miles when running in?? Getting mine saturday and might just go for one fkuc off drive and get it over and done with....
Personally i use Autoglym wax then give it a coat of thier Superbuff resin. Its absolutly quality. Costs a bit though, but the finish is the best ever. The polish is good but the other stuff gives it an extra layer.
If thats the case, how come dealers arent telling us. About to pick up my new 172 on saturday after 10 week wait and its already out of date. Whats the trade in on a never driven 172????:(
Pete, ordered about the 20th of aug. Just went to the local dealer with the my sister, she bought a dynamique and i got the 172. They originally said about 5 weeks, but that turned into 10 weeks. Turned up on thursday and will collect on Saturday.
Sorry to keep posting this, but need help asap as were going to have a go tomorrow. How do you get to the clio clutch and is it easy enough to change??
Its the bit at the end of the shaft that connects it to the wheel. Get it checked asap, mine went on a R5 and left me in the middle of no where. Either that, or the engine mounts might be loose, but its unlikely.
Ive got the Mac Audio twin 10" active box. Sounded Pukka in my 306 cab (sealed boot) and reckon it will sound unbelieveable in my clio. all for £220 and its tiny!
My 172 turned up yesterday after ordering it at the end of Aug. beat the estimate of 4th nov easily. So phone your dealers up and see if they have turned up early??? Cant wait for next weekend when i pick it up.
My mums RT needs a new clutch. Can anyone lend a hand on how you go about this, as it appears to need the entire gearbox dropping to get at it. My Dad is an excellent mechanic (Has kept everyone of my cars on the road when ive violated them). Is it something we can do, or does it need a garage...
Firstly, this is a good news thread. Reno advised me that my 172 would be available to collect on 4th nov, guess what? Its at the dealership now waiting to be prepd and can collect anytime this week. And on top of that they are loaning me the Service managers 172 to throw around on monday "To...
Ordered mine around 20th aug, right in the middle of the factory shut down. No one ever tells you when buying a car that there is a black hole in the french calender where they all pi55 off the coast. Had a call from the dealer Tuesday night telling me the car would here 1st nov for collection.
What about a R5 lump and get a couple of huge garretts on it? What ever you do, the new motah would have to have RWD. You never move anywhere with FWD.
Oh, if you aint got anything to do chech this out...
Personally, the amount of cash it would cost to put that engine in the car would be prohibitive. Changing all the linkages etc, to much effort for an ok result. The engines are the Mac Daddies on a bike, but in a car the weight will mean it would be no where near as good.
Has anyone tried...
