Was the easiest thing in the end. if you pull the carpet away the grommet is there on the on the left. All wired in and sounds fantastic. Recommend the MacAudio 225 for anyone wanting a little bass but not wanting to lose the boot space.
Just wanted to say thanks to all of you on here that have given thier advice over the last few weeks. My 172 is on the road, have finally got some sounds wired in, and getting my running in done so i can blat it about.
Maybe as an idea they could have a closed FAQs thread on owning a new...
Oh im more than up for it when its run in, lets say once around winter hill or cookham and back from town? To many Rozzers everywhere else! That may be the fella on my estate, no way i would let my misss drive my new toy, so that wasnt me!
Got mine in Blue, so NO making me drive fast if you spot me. Theres a few others from round our way on here isnt there? Have you put any sounds in your cup?
Best to keep to the reno recommendations, which is 650 miles below 3.5/4K revs. After that you can blast it, but dont expect to get top banana performance for 2500 miles.
From wht ive heard on here, maxing it from day one give great laughs but murders your engine very quickly and are paying...
Hope you all had a gooe weekend! Anyway, Saturday afternoon and im on the drive trying to wire in amp etc. Dad asks how its going, "Easiest car ive ever tried to install" i reply! How wrong i was, the rcas and remote lead are in and easy to run but how the Funk are you supposed to get the power...
Anyone got any good ideas on stopping them? I drive to work on the mway most mornings and my last car looked like it had been in a drive-by with all the holes in the front! And i wouldnt want my new like toy to get all scratchde up now would i?
Does anyone else get a slight knock when they reverse thier car and then drive forward on thier 172. Only seems to happen when you first start up and its nothing major (I hope). Is it the brake catching or something?
Do you think Reno might try a RWD Clio and Megane in the shapes? Sorta V6 style, or front engined rwd? Could be a really mental moter if they did, up the power and rwd, scare some real big sports cars then!
Check out incarexpress.co.uk they have very very good deals on components. Going to do mine, but trying to find out if you can leave the existing prossover in (If there is one) rather than try and rewire the door!
Thanks for the information Jeremy, are the options going to be available to buy and fit to the current 172? Only picked mine up Saturday and think i would like to add those on to my 172?
Morning all. Hopefully if the weather is ok this weekend i am going to wire in my Mac amped box, any hints on running the cable to the back on a new 172. Dont really want to take out the Pass seat, is it an arse to run door the sills??
Also, can you use the existing wiring for the mids/Tweets...
Will give it a go tonight. IMHO the entire road network should be coated with that non slip surface, the traction on that stuff when pulling way in such fun.
Oh and as for Induction noise, geez, what a sound.
Morning all, just started running in my 172 and wondered if people use the ESP function or look at it as a cheat option for poor drivers? Is is any good, and does the traction control interfere to much?
