Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild]
off a cup car - ie car's been in a smack or 6 before (the pink one didn't have an original panel left on it LOL!)
hard luck mate, more welding needed! although there's no need to seam weld the f**k out of it like you had done
tw*t of a job (passenger side isn't too bad to do, drivers side is a right mare!)
including track rod end (no point reusing the old one) i charge £160 inc vat for the passenger side, depending on how long it takes if your lucky it'll be the same price for the drivers side, if its seized then...
Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild]
did you not measure it first? though to be fair if its sold as "mint" etc you assume it is, assumption - the mother of all f**k ups! :(
they originally used the alcon unit, but these had a habit of self destructing, they then moved to Helix paddle units, some ran qartermaster (i think) units also
adjuster is upside down mate, its supposed to go at the top ;)
doesn't matter though, it just says so in the instructions
if you put them in the way it says it becomes impossibe to adjust the ride height though - odd
unknown who did it, but whoever it was needs shooting!
the ribbed rubber belt had actually worn grooves into the metal idler! (you can see them in the pic just)
