Hi,
could you tell me how you wired up the rev counter on your old phase 3?
I've now got myself some RT clocks but IIRC from what you said they're not plug and play into a 1.2 and will require some modification - do you know exactly what needs to be done or can point me in the direction of...
70mm will look good.
Eddes right, it'd handle better with the front a little lower than the rear but it'll still be good with the sills level to the ground (which i think is what you really mean?).
No, hes right it won't solve the problem but by leaving those bits on you're doing yourself out of getting them to fix it...causing yourself money too if you've warranty waiting to be used.
Erm...anyone thats breaking a clio 16v/williams/R19 16v - matbrown/infinicar/LTR etc?
Try on www.retro-renault.com...you'll likely get an entire car for what you pay for the brakes on here!
There not that saught after - a complete engine went on eay for about 75 a few weeks ago so going to a proper scrappy you'll find one for under 50. Straight swap yes but not many people will bother considering you can bang a 1.8/2ltr (8v or 16v) in for not much more...
You could do it that way but thats rather pointless...better of just bolting a 1.6 BE on as is rather than swapping the parts over. It'll be in better nick anyway.
The head off a 1.6 should fit on a 1.4 block but the problem will be management...you'd likely need everything of the megane...
Under 200quid.
In fact you'll get a complete megane engine for under that if you hunt about...then you can sell the head to recoup costs. It's only in clioland that prices go silly for them!
1.4 16v head won't fit as its completely different.
Headwork and cam will give a good gain and coupled with the 1.8 8v SPI TB from a laguna you'll get close to 100bhp.
You could also fit a 1.6 bottom end from a megane 8v (K7M engine)...it'll bolt straight on and give some extra power...
With the greatest of respect Ali, the 'weve got the power' argument is a bit lame. While the RS is probably quickest of all clios its still just a glorified shopping trolley and in the grand scheme of things isn't anywhere near the quickest thing on the roads.
I'm not denying its a good car...
I used to dislike 'chav/bodykitted' cars too but thesedays it doesn't matter a toss how fast your car is...theres always someone getting in the way or always a traffic jam...end of.
This being the case i'd rather be sitting in something a bit individual (or better still a motorbike) instead...
I want to lower my clio a little bit more but have just 1 cm of thread left to play with on the rack arms!
Roughly how much thread is used up on average by dropping say 20mm?
Will i have enough thread to sort the tracking after going down by this amount?
