Calm!
I think youre missing the point - id tell them im swapping the engine but id drop in a 1.4 lump which identical in everyway and hopefully swap the engine tag too for that of a 1.2 of visually the same type....therefore there no way theyd know its not a 1.2.
All im wanting to know is a)...
I have a 1.2 8v D7F engine atm and id like to swap for some power if its cheap enough. Since the 1.4 8v E7F is identical to the 1.2 8V E5F i thought id just tell them thats what i had - that way they know its had a swap but as far as theyre concerned its not a more powerful engine (IIRC both the...
Well insurance wise itd be a E5F to replace a D7F. In reality itd be a E7F id be dropping in for the extra 20bhp but theyre identical...hence asking...
Well i reckon an inspector isnt going be able to tell the difference between std 16v suspension and std RT suspension as chances are theyll both be covered in crap/rust anyway. Obviously if you got a bright red/yellow set of lowering springs on there itd be a different matter! Engine as everyone...
Id just tell them about the engine and exhaust TBH.
Engine...you could say its a 1.8 to save some cash, Suspension...you could say its standard (as youll be using 16v components and theyre standard on 16vs ;-p), Exterior...you could proably get away without telling them too...
You dont need the 16v arches as the RT has the same width of track as a 16v. Shouldnt need the 16v subframe either...just get the 16v hub carriers, 16v shocks and springs to get a suspension setup that can cope...
i have to say that i think the williams rims would look better in silver...itd be a wasted oppertunity if you dont because black and blue just doesnt work...not on a valver anyway...
Aye right enough, there no signs up or anything saying its a 30...cant see why it should be either TBH as its not built up. Few bits like that elsewhere in Aberdeen...bit that goes up to altens where ive been caught twice springs to mind!
You may be lucky enough to get off with it tho - i did...
theres only one word for that and thats PERFECT!!
Looks so so so good - id be really happy with that if i were you...money very well spent! :D
[Edited by u33db on 25 April 2005 at 7:54pm who now realises the folly if his ways and WILL go buy another 16v before the end of the year! :-) ]
I used to have that same model of clio a few years back...ironically it had an alloy spoiler too...hated the colour - cherry red...yeah right, it was PINK as far as i and everyone else was concerned...shed!
How simple is it to fit the engine in in regard to the wiring? I seem to remember that you had GTT clocks and there was a fair bit of rewiring done by GDI?
think flowed heads are about 500quid (ex fitting) - atm you wont be getting the most out of your cams so id expect once the head goes on youll get an instant 10/15bhp increase...
