Ideal range as a walkabout lens on a Canon crop body like the 350D. To short for m/sport track work though, where you need a minimum of 200 mm idealy 300 mm plus.
I currently have a 28-105, 70 - 200, and 300 mm lenses that I use. Looking to get a 17-40mm wide angle for next year to replace...
There is reason Toyos are much cheaper because they aint that great.
Can't comment on them on a 182, but did plenty of miles in them on my 205 and 309 GTis. Exaltos and the Goodyears are both a cut above the Toyos in all areas, esp in the wet and how long they last.
Stick to the Exaltos.
I have to say the 350D.
I tried both the D50 and 350D in the shop and prefered the 350D.
The Canon Kit lens can take some great shots, but is let down by its build quality, mine had a horrible zoom ring from new and filled up with dust in a matter of months, also feels very cheap. Get a better...

A good chemical cleaner like as suggested above Klasse AIO works great on oxidisation on single stage red. Of the shelf Autoglym Super Resin works well.
Some branches of Halfords are supposed to have started to stock one of the brands according to an advert in EVO, will have a look later forget which brand.
I test drove a Phase 1 the other day, so am not sure where this whole ph-Quik thing comes from, having a load more miles on it than my 182 I thought I would feel some difference. Nothing in from the drivers seat feel. I will stick Ph-Ugly name for now ;)
Still buying one though as that can be...
Mines on the rear ledge next to the parcel shelf - 5-10 minute job. Down the back of the dash between the screen, down the door rubber along the sill, and behind the rear quarter trim.
You dont need to tell me mate, I know the score there.
The last two cars I went to look at for sale had both had reciepts for failures under 20K and 2 years old. Both tapped like hell after rebuild too.
