Just got back from a track day, a new M5 was out for most of the day, looked to be having a LOT of fun!

It's a 182 so has auto lights. If you have auto lights and try to turn the fogs on, they wont. You have to physically turn your lights on in order to make the fogs work.... Which means they beep at you when you turn the engine off, no?

If you have lowering springs on the car, the chances are one/both of them fell out.

All (or most) high end stuff does it. Normal BMW's it's the same as a corsa/focus but the M cars are worthless if they miss the running in service. All sorts if warranty/resale complications.

The fact it has 6 owners kind of defeats the 'low mileage' spin it has. If I was you I'd look for one with the usual 60/70k for £2500 like Ron Says. Low mileage is only any good as a selling point if it's also only had 1 or 2 owners.

As a daily, I actually preferred my dci to my 172! Around town under 50mph, the torque is more than adequate. They are fantastic little cars, and genuinely the cheapest cars to run. Ever. There is a 55 plate one by me for £995 and I was tempted by it but I need a Break from clios for a bit.

Gearbox oil sorts that out. If you've had it out, make sure it hasn't picked and grit/s**t up whilst being on the floor!

Get some Eibach Camber bolts. Take it to a reputable alignment place. Under £50 all in.

It makes absolutely no difference. It's a mass produced French car not a Mk1 Escort Mexico or a Delorean. Just enjoy it whichever you choose. :-)

I got it cheap, I have lots of spares and a good Renault mechanic. My thoughts were that it would give him a bit of cheap semi cheap motoring. At £50 per 200 miles, it's not quite worked out how I planned!

I've never owned a 172/182 that doesn't leak gearbox oil. In fact I'm certain the French did it to stop the underside of the car from rusting! Lol
