...from a phase 2 to a phase 1 1.8 16V!
Are the mounts etc the same for a direct swap and how do you get the phase 1s off anyway??
Any help appreciated....!
I think everyone inc. me has/has had this problem!
My money is on the column too - trackrod ends etc are unlikely to cause THAT much looseness. Personally id get a new or v. low milage secondhand column; you dont want to put your faith in a quick weld or small bolt when youre tanking it down a...
Well, Im starting to assemble parts for a megane bottom end conversion and once thats done ill start with the exterior bits. My plan is to fit the willy interior and have all the gold willy parts picked out in silver (e.g wheels etc) so itll sort of be a replica....
As for the graphics, im...
has anyone seen something like this anywhere on the net?
It needs to be the same style of lettering that appears on the back/side of willys -.thinking of turning my 449 valver into a replica and want some subtle slightly different graphics on it.
Thanks!
On my 1.8, usually 160 miles from full (£25 fillup)
I think ill get more now as ive removed my IK and stainless zorst so im not driving to get the sound anymore - e.g. last night 130 miles from 15quid. Sweet!
I think its the distance between the centre of the lower 2 bolt holes - as far as i remember theres 3 different distances between them.
Someone will clarify though....
Not wanting to be unkind but is it reallly worth spunking all that cash on zorst, filter, chip etc for just an extra 8-9bhp?
Weve all been there but personally id spend your money on the bodywork or a faster car m8....
Up to you though!
True enough but the bonus is that it costs like half what the osmose one from k-tec does and they appear to be near identical.....
Should be ok to use them i think - i got a set of wheels from them last year very quickly and they were helpful over the phone when i told the i had a centre cap...
Just found a price for this bumper from prima - about 180quid. Does anyone know if that includes the fogs as well??
I seem to remember someone on here had the same bumper....

Cheers for the info folks - think ill try the pressure guage thing as my ive got a new ICV on so cant be that.
steve a - what other mods does your car have? Do you knw where i could get a pressure gauage from and how much?
Exhaust fumes are normal - ill check the plugs (new 4.5k ago) at the w/e. I take it sooty means not enough fuel and oily means too much?
Apparently, PBVs come pre-adjusted from the factory (to a reasonable degree) and ive only ever turned it up so i suppose it can only really be that. However...
Well, im only getting about 180miles to a full tank so im assuming its pumping too much petrol through as thats below average mpg. I just wonder if that would cause the above effects.....
Right, ive got chip, cams and PBV on my 1.8 which has been fine until a few days ago. Trouble is, over the past week, i removed my stainless system and ecotek yesterday and now there appears to be a slight hesitation between stamping on the gas and before it really takes off. I know its not duff...
Remember last year that k-tec were going to have their throttle bodied clio on the rollers in febuary to get some power figures.
Does anyone have any info on what it got or if theyve actually had it rrd yet?
The nightmare is just beginning m8! ;)
Nah, seriously - like any car, if its a good example then youll be ok but if not then its going to be a bottomless pit. Thats just the chance you take so buy with your head not your heart!
Unfortunately i bought a cheap one (with no SH either) from the...
Ah - selling to some local lad in about an hour! :D
Theres something to be said for standard looking cars i think - very subtle. It also makes it even more enjoyable beating newer cars as they always think "eh? I just got done by a 10 year old clio - WTF!"
Itd be fair to say that the yellow spec wouldnt be as nice to drive either considering the peaky cams etc.... Throttle bodies might be cheaper alternative for you though.
On the 1.8 engine there steel piping to conect the inlet manfold to the servo hose which i replaced with rubber piping when the ecotek went on - i just put that back on.
Just removed the ecotek valve from my valver and oh my god - what a difference!
I dont know if its just my imagination but the car pulls harder, brakes better and runs quieter than before - far superior! Im even getting the occassional flame out of the standard exhaust (it only happened on my...
TBH i cant really see any of thse IKs giving much more power over a replacement panel filter in the std airbox. However, i dont own a 172 so cant be sure - all i know is that it doesnt on a valver/williams. If your inlet manifold is modified you wont NEED the chip because its not really altering...
