Shockers size

I have heard that there are different sizes for the MK1 shocks?? i recently got some brand new shocks for a tenner because they were gonna go in the bin lol... i have a 96 P MK1 Clio and i am wondering wheather or not the shockers will fit.. where do i need to chekc on the shocker and what size does it ned to be to fit?? any help pls!

I think its the distance between the centre of the lower 2 bolt holes - as far as i remember theres 3 different distances between them.

Someone will clarify though....

yeah been told is 52 or 54mm
