Christ alive. Did you do that yourself??

    thinking possible write off!

I'm really not a fan of new rear wings/door skins etc. 90 times out of 100 the fit is either poor or it will rust in no time. You raise a valid point @gally regarding panel beating.

    cambelt problems (local garages)

In my experience, a specialist charges circa £100 labour. The rest of the bill is made up of parts. It's not worth doing it yourself. They get £100 for doing 3-4 hours work, you get a car that's timed up properly. Win win. If you buy the tools, you'll need to do your belts twice as a minimum...

    thinking possible write off!

The thing is, that could be 'fixed' for under £500. But that would involve a big hammer and s**t load of filler. I wouldn't be happy with that on my car personally.

Mrs is dog rough! Hopefully coming home tomorrow though... Tbh mate, I'm not really the one to ask with maintainence stuff. I never keep cars long enough to worry about that! Lol

    thinking possible write off!

I'd be very surprised if they repair that. Labour is huge to remove and replace the rear quarter. Then the colour will be an absolute pig so will have to have the whole side painted. Bound to total more than 50% of the cars value. I'm sure @gally will offer you some professional advice.

You shouldn't need to clay often at all. Do it once, and then regular proper maintainance should prevent the need to. Your paint is soft as s**t so I'd be very VERY wary of doing it more than absolutely necessary.

Pictures of your looped rack for EPAS. What fittings have you used?

Interesting... Do you use it as a daily? I used mine for about 6 months as a commuting car and it was fine. But that was, at most, 2 miles max and a top speed of 30mph! Lol Not being able to steer sounds a bit like a potential issue to me!!

I've got two bolts and some chemical metal in mine. Little drop of oil in there first to keep things lubed up. Both me and a mate have done it.

If I still drove for fun - Christ I used to think nothing of doing £100 in fuel on a weekend just driving something mental - then I'd have something that I commute in AND have fun in. But I don't. So I won't. Clio dci 65's are where it's at..,

It is. Spend money to go to work to earn money, to pay for the car you're using to go... I'll stick with bangernomics for that.

Second hand ones. Under 12 months old and less than 15,000 miles. (Ex fleet cars) Let's 'assume' we have £5,000 profit across them (we don't) and that means they've more or less dropped 50 percent in 12 months. Madness.

At £280 a month with nil deposit, it was a no brainer. It's a £48,000 car so depreciation would be mind blowing if you bought one! Lol. (We've got 14 plates on the forecourt for under £30k!)

He was originally going to get a 335d X drive, then he wanted a 435i coupe. But I knew as soon as he sat in a 5 he'd drop the other two. Leagues ahead in terms of cabin quality, which is what my dads all about now. @gally , I could get a stonking car for me personally, but I don't see the...
