TBH black wheels look a bit "nightrider" - you wouldnt perm your hair david hasslehoff stylee so why think about going that route with your wheels?
Go for the white wheels - itll look well smart.... :)
When i was trying to repair my temp sensor i got the one below. However, its blantantly not the correct part for my clio but what car is it actually for?

Mat,
cheers for that - i spoke to Paul16v about that one last week and he said willy driveshafts, shocks, arb and R19 wishbones (they must be the same as willy ones then). Apparently he Paul16v also had willy track on his 2ltr conversion...
Anyway, dealer just phoned - my shocks and...
Cant see other makes being that different but if you want to keep it authentic stick with de carbon - like the tyres, springs etc that was what the williams handling was developed on.
Ive got a set on order ATM - 40.67 each so not too pricey....
The lights have probably just not been put on correct - the entire unit needs unscrewed and removed when changing the bulbs.
As for the engine, what milage is it on? RT engines are fairly strong but like anything, neglected or high milage examples can be dodgy. Best to take someone that knows...
Those are prima sport alloys in the top pic so chances are its been treated well - its unlikely a "boy racer" or someone that doesnt care is going to fit a specialist wheel like that (only available from prima and IMO, the only aftermarket wheel that suits a valver/willy) so defo have a look at...
600!!
He must have been having a laugh m8! Think theyre about 100 from eurocarparts aint they?
Id have slapped him if hed said that to me i think!
Fit williams wider track then put a williams coilover kit on if necessary!
I have a post on here about what parts are needed and im aiming to get it done next month. If you can wait till then i can tell you exactly whats needed for the conversion and show the result....
Soz - should have been clearer; i meant ill get williams driveshafts and try and salvage my existing toothed rings from my 16v driveshafts if the willy ones dont have them.
Cheers for the support though - going to be very interesting to see it done! :)
I wonder how many people have actually...
BenR: cheers for that! I assume i could salvage my existing ones if needed?
william: i think the wishbones are the same as a R19, or at least are the same dimensions but possibly strengthened in some way; will be able to check by matching part numbers maybe. However, as far as i can tell the...
Damn it! :(
So basically im going to need a williams ARB too? How much is that going to set me back?
Is the ARB (and the bushes??) the only other thing ill need beyond the shocks and wishbones that ive already bought and the driveshafts (which im still confused over the abs/non-abs issue as...
Cheers!
Ive just been up to the dealership - willy shocks and wishbones on the way. I didnt order the driveshafts because of the ABS issue but got the parts guy to check anyway. He says that no "with/without abs" question popped up when he queried that part so they should all be the same...
As per the topic on retro fitting willy suspension to my 16v im gonna go up to the parts dept at lunchtime to cost everything up. Theyre gonna ask for an oval plate number so could someone give me theirs?
Cheers!
:D
P.S I dont know if it makes any difference but preferably need one from a...
Thanks for that!
Just another point that has come to me - i assume ill need shafts from an ABS fitted williams seeing as my 16v has ABS (probably obvious)?
I think a trip to the parts department at lunchtime could be in order now - if i can get through this damn snow!
As said above, you cant put a new style engine in as the mounts/wiring etc will be different.
If you have "energy" stamped accross your knackered 1.2, get the 1.4 version and drop it straight in as they look identical from the outside - pretty sure you will need the ECU as well. Its not worth...
i think the willy adds 30mm or thereabouts over the valver track. Im not too keen to use spacers TBH because at the end of the day it will still handle near enough the same (albeit look better!). Theres also the reliability issue of having 15mm spacers on as im tanking it down a country road!
Will that matter though?
I thought that since they are attached to the hubs (i think!) which im keeping i can simply wind them out a bit to compensate for the wider track?
Erm, i emailed Paul at infincar and he says the racks are different but have the same dimensions so it should be ok to keep them - im also waiting on BB/K-tec/Hillpower to reply just to double check but im fairly sure hes right.
I dunno - I reckon for all the parts it should just cost me about...
As per another post, im planning to fit the willy wider track setup to my valver but ive been told the tyres might catch the arches if i have it lowered - seems likely knowing waht like the valver is!
If youve had experience of a lowered willy could you tell me how bad the catching actually is...
