Ecoteks cannot be fitted to diesels - even if they could dont bother!

I think this is the same kit that Hillpower basis their conversion on and i think he uses a smaller radiator - will that and that plastic sheild thingy gone itd have a pretty direct air feed i think.

Someones going to say it anyway but dont waste your time on the ecotek.....

couldnt hurt to change filters but if the head has been recently replaced id leave it for a couple hundrd miles before doing anything about it. Itll prob slacken off (well, mine did anyway after reconditioning and having the head tightened down).

Hi, I currently have my valver set up on cams etc with a HP stg 2 chip and was wondering what benifit id get from swapping to a Unichip or similar? Do they really give that much extra power and what could i expect? Also, i take it that once their fitted, all diagnostic functionality that...

is this just a case of removing/resetting the limiter or do you have to do some strengthing of components etc to do it safely? On my engine, hitting the limiter the engine sounds like its gonna go boom (HP stg 2 chip)!

Currently running some 195/50/15s on my valver ATM and finding theres a fair amount of body roll so wondering what improvement 195/45/15s would make? Will it cure the body roll by any amount and will there be any other benifits (acceleration?) or drawbacks (looking odd?)? Discuss.....cheers! :D

Wont wear at all - prec-cat 16vs have no problems and theyre cat-less by design.

The sony ones are a lot cheaper and look far simpler/better than the alpine units. I have no problems with my mp30 and it has preouts as well....

Is that the right hand side of the engine looking at it from the front of the car? Could be the thermostat housing (radiator pipe goes into it) - 5 or so torx bolts....

I have had one on my last car and have only now removed it from valver. On the first car i was convinced it made a difference to fuel consumption and power but i have now removed it from my fairly modified valver and have noticed no difference in mpg - TBH my mpg has increased now its gone. I...

Check the connector going onto the iscv as well. My one had lost the metal clip holding it in place causing the throttle to stick at 5000rpm when it came loose....not the best when you want to slow down from 90 or so....!

Rick, i beleive its something to do with the way dastek usually map thier chips and how the 172 engine makes its power. Its something like majority of dastek fitters map under the assumption max power occurs at max revs wheras the 172 engine (unusually) doesnt and in some cases this incorrect...

A11 YDJ (Ally) had a Williams 1 which he sold a while back cos it has gearbox problems. Ironically, my valver is now sitting with a fcuked gearbox as i type.... Erm, i sold my K&N to a guy with a standard Williams (3 i think) a few months ago so it could be him. His username was RENNIE i think...
