Obviously don't hold the washer right up against the roof. Just be sensible really. If it's particularly green in places, once you soak it in cleaner, scrub it with a brush before rinsing.

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

I've pressure washed roofs for about 15 years, never had an issue yet. If you're only using a karcher type pressure washer, and not a boiling hot 2000psi industrial washer, you'll be absolutely fine.

Very bad, the hopd will shrink/stretch. If it's green mould, then some normal All purpose cleaner (g101 etc) will clean it up. Spray it on, let it soak for a good 15 minutes (not in the sun) and pressure wash it all. If it's black mould, then baby sterilising fluid is the only thing I've...

Graham's OCD ph2 DCi sport rep

Looks wicked mate! I really need to just get the Cambelt done on mine. It's 2 years over due! And a new dog bone mount/4th engine mount. The movement is comical.

What have you done to your car today ???

Sanded and Polished the headlights, and machine polished a scratch off the door. Re-dyed the carpets black. No expense spared on this old girl!

    Anywhere other than Fancyplates?

This. A set of plain plates off eBay, including all fixings, are £10.99 delivered. Sack paying £32 just because the front one is 8mm shorter.

    your opinion

I had 3 as company cars. The diesel was 'alright' but the other two were dog s**t. Especially the 1.6 petrol, holy f**k that was a dreadful car.

What have you done to your car today ???

    182 engine refresh for track

Oh ok so it's just a case of adjusting the tensioner to suit? I can't imagine that's common practice given that head gaskets never go on these? I'd also imagine that There are rover 1.8 tensioners actually made to fit with a skimmed head! Lol.

    Oil change

There's nothing to be puzzled about dude! It hasn't got low oil pressure so won't kick the light on. But as a precaution, top it up to max and check it daily. (Is there a parrot in here?? Lol£

    Oil change

What's puzzling? The only warning light you'll get is a low oil pressure light. If that light comes on, 99 times out of 100 the damage is done. Prevention is better than cure so just top it up and check it daily.
  21. Dicky Belly

    Oil change

If you get a warning light it's too late anyway the damage is done! Warning light is bad! Lol Just top it up to max today, drive it for a bit, check it again later on. I certainly wouldn't faff about draining it again.

    Oil change

Is the car on completely flat ground?? I've never had to put more that the quoted 5.1L in so it does seem odd. My old Merc sprinter used to hold 8.5 litres but I always had to put 9L in it to get it to maximum.

    Ecu, uch kit

I've just done one funnily enough! Disconnected the battery, removed old parts one at a time, replacing as I went, reconnected battery and that was it. Didn't take very long either.

    182 engine refresh for track

You'll know the answer to this... Doesn't a head skim muck up the timing on these?? OP, your car has done 58k not 158k. Just do belts, water pump and dephaser. Spend the rest on some decent tyres and go and enjoy it on track.
