only problem with the mk1's is they can be a money pit, but thats the same with the mk2's aswell if you buy a shitter
remember yoz's black valver jon? (gaz's old one) yoz spent over 2K on that, and it was a minter, but then yoz wasn't exactly kind to it LOL
i remember that! i go past at like 300mph and then just fail epically down the fast bit (that red one and that megane went back past too) and you get past out of the bus stop! the cam timing was out of that car, but jon would still be quicker even if the car had been reet
the only way i could...
^he's right, mk1 is the quickest car you'll get (hybrid or williams)
my mk1 cup racer was immense, best car i've ever driven
^9 lives post the video of you "raping me"
the idler (in my experience) is the first thing to start making a noise normally, but TBH if that needs changing you'll have to chuck a full aux belt kit on (£110 approx for the kit) but that'll have to come of again come cambelt time next year, so looks like you might have to bite the bullet...
there's 2 within about 400m and another 2 a bit further away, can't find the deatils on them though!
highlands road (B90 4 Solihull, at the bottom of the list)
its every 72K or 5yrs (which ever's sooner)
carlton are very good (so are all the other specialists dotted all over the place!)
i'd have the aux idler looked at first, and then change the cambelt next year
i was on about the old ones, i would've thought they would've carried the supplier over, the old ones started off on alcon but they had problems with them failing so changed to helix IIRC
215mm clutch still?
there's something wrong there, should fire up straight away (well within say 5 cranks)
did the bloke use the special tools? i'm in solihull mate so i don't mind popping over
