The 1,2 and 3 Stages of the Megs are all non abbrassive. You need to follow the G3 with a finer finishing polish really. I would more likely follow the G3 with a Megs pro line polish like #80 Speed Glaze. This will follow up the G3 nicely and polish to a deeper wetter gloss.
I have the Sigma its not bad, but very soft over 200mm. Mate has a Tamron but a 70-300 so no real comps.

I got annoyed with Photobucket, buy some we spaces and use Photoshop to make automated web gallerys.

For the best conditioner I have found that even smells like leather though.

Make sure you speak to your paint guy as most places say to wait between 30-90 days before sealing or waxing new piant. You can polish it as long as the polishes dont contain waxes or sealants.
Looking at them at the weekend, they will need some real welly, You still being cautious with them or do you really want it off?
I would try the clay first, then look into Meguiars Wheel Brightner.
Cheers guys - No it is definatley in the lens itself. Reading on the net is a common 18-55 kit lens problem. They have little or no weather sealing by the sounds of it. There is a thin layer all over the inside of the front glass of the lens. I have now replaced it with a 28-105 lens now anyway...
I have had the kit lens and my Sigma 70-300 since the same day, looked after them both as carefuly as I can, but the kit one is full of dust inside. The Sigma has stayed fine.
There is no way of cleaning that out is there?
