I don't see it as cheating, it will offer very little (if any at all!) performance gains. I just wanted to fit it for ease of cat fitment as the car will be road legal. If it's not allowed it's not allowed I won't lose sleep over it.

Out of interest, what have you been quoted? Its labour intensive but a novice* could do it in a weekend. Wiper motor is easy. (*by novice I mean someone with at least some common sense! lol)

That's what we do. If glasses guide says a car is worth £3000 but they're all over autotrader at dealers for £2999, why pay any attention to glasses? We just go onto autotrader/ebay and look at the classifieds and go from there. Saves the £800/pa on glasses and cap too! lol.
