Rushed it. That's not a dig or a smart remark, but the only reason it wouldn't leave you perfect lenses is if you have rushed it and not followed each process to the end.
It's easy to sit on the sofa and judge based on a video though. Until you're sat in a car with 100+ people wanting to kick your head in, you can't say what you'd do.
I'd like to say that i'd have avoided the situation too but if my wife and kids were in the car, i'd be prepared to kill...
Unless in the past, you've been surrounded by 100+ bikers in a country with a firearm problem, you can't say what you'd do. Nobody can.
The Range Rover bloke had less than a second to decide what to do and he did what he thought was best for him.
I'm not saying anything of the sort! I'm just saying that of the three people who are 99.9% going to be racing (Me adam and nick) not one of us are complicating things like you are. We're buying a 172/182, stripping it out, fitting some bits and going racing.
I really don't see the need to...
I'm just trying to stop people driving tony insane with a gazillion questions every day.
The basic regs are set out. Build a car. Go racing.
If we come to the first meeting and 90% of people feel that one person is taking the piss and pushing the boundaries too far, we'll discuss it then. If...
You can talk/clarify/explain/more talk/more clarify about what you want mate. Ive no interest in all of that tbh! lol
I just want to build a cheap car and go racing. If I get there and after the first race have to change a couple of things so be it. I'm certainly not going to cry.
As tony and...
No I just won't fit it to begin with. The rules are pretty clear and outlined. If there's ten cars in our little series and 9 of us decide that someone's taking the piss we'll do something about it then.
As for the 15/16 inch tyres, who is going to ban you for having 15s when everyone racing...
I don't see it as cheating, it will offer very little (if any at all!) performance gains. I just wanted to fit it for ease of cat fitment as the car will be road legal.
If it's not allowed it's not allowed I won't lose sleep over it.
So a novice, faced with a decision to buy a 206 gti with no scope for improving performance, Or buy a 2.0 clio where he can fit better parts from different models, would be a bit dopey to choose the Pug, no?
180 miles?! Ooft.
What about Glastonbury? SJM are in Glastonbury and Dan's a good guy.
If you could come to Bristol we'd do it for you cheaply but We're a long way from Cornwall!
I'll just get you some links...

Out of interest, what have you been quoted? Its labour intensive but a novice* could do it in a weekend. Wiper motor is easy.
(*by novice I mean someone with at least some common sense! lol)
I already have it mate so that's why i'm going to use it. Makes fitting the cat a million times easier if nothing else.
I didn't realise about the catch tank, cheers i'll get that too. I have the seat and harness on order from a mate so that's ok.
Guys, how does this sound for a spec list for the car. ALL opinions welcome! I'm going shopping this week and want to make sure i've got everything. We're taking time off work to get it all done/fitted and if I forget something, i'll get punched.
It's a clio 172 Cup.
15 inch wheels
4 x new...
That's what we do. If glasses guide says a car is worth £3000 but they're all over autotrader at dealers for £2999, why pay any attention to glasses? We just go onto autotrader/ebay and look at the classifieds and go from there.
Saves the £800/pa on glasses and cap too! lol.
