i've spent 18months trying to solve it! its very annoying having a competitive car and not being allowed to run because of noise! just trying to warn you thats all, christ is becoming a bit "hormonal" what happens when you become a GDI customer? :rolleyes:
they're ok, wouldn't be my choice though
you can get the box out in 2hours if you know what you're doing (well i can :rasp: )
drop the subframe and pull the box out from below and leave the engine in the car
its 5W40 on the V6 Mk2 for the engine, i can't see why it would be different for a mk1, both L7X engines
you'll need a second sump washer for the gearbox i believe
Yozzasport sell the gearbox oil
buy all the hardware, bolt it all on (easy enough if you're mechanically experienced) and then tow it to someone like http://www.torqueofthedevil.com/flash.asp and pay them to supply and fit the ecu/loom

so all cars running megasquirt, emerald, any other non e marked ecu thats driving on a uk road with tax and MOT and insurance shouldn't be?
i find that hard to believe
its not exhaust noise thats the problem, its induction noise with TB's
we went past the tower at donnington park at 105db in noisy mode
with a quiet really restrictive rear box and a silencer in place of the decat it went past at 103db
with an airbox over the ITB's we got it down to...
well i know of only 1 (yes ONE) uk renault tuner that has dyno'd an F4R with throttle bodies (it had cams and pistons too) and made 225bhp at the crank
Moteur huger in france have dyno'd an F4R with just bodies and made 205bhp
