Stereo / Head unit advice. Phase 2 172

A standard stereo and code can be bought for £15. I'd just get a new (secondhand) one tbh. Not worth the bother of messing about with it.

Engine is more noisy than when I first bought it.

Are these chain driven? The Corsas are known for rattling their chains like a Ghost on Halloween.

    Spraying Splitter

I'd spray a standard cup splitter, they're pretty solid. But that bobbins rubbery skoda splitter will just leave the paint peeling off in chunks IMO.

    SCARY Moment

One of my rear pads fell out whilst on a black mountain run. Made a dreadful noise and virtually killed a wheel with rust dust! lol.

'Old fords' don't depreciate though. Go and look on pistonheads for an RS500.

    Headlight restoration part two...

I've never used a 3m kit, but i'm assuming it is something along the lines of different grade wet and dry paper, polishing, then buffing? If so, i'd say that you haven't gone through the grades properly or haven't spent long enough on the polishing stage. You certainly haven't killed them...

    WR05 NZO anyone know it??

Hi. Got your pm mate. I'm not 100% sure it was mine, but i'm 99% there. (I've had a few!) It would have been my company car so i'd have only had it from new to 3 months old. Sorry I can't answer any of your questions.

Why are Mazda RX8's so cheap??

Re: Why are Mazda RX8 so cheap?? People moaning about oil consumption are either poor or are reciting what they've read on the internet. They use no more than a litre of mineral oil a month. Which can cost under £5. It's hardly worth worrying about.

    Rocker cover removal.

We lifted it out engine first, gearbox last if that makes sense. Then when putting it back in, gearbox in first, engine last. (At angles, not seperately)

Help Needed! I Think its bad...

No but it sounds as though there's a woodpecker in there. That sounds fatal. :( (Youtube videos rarely sound like real life though so I may be completely wrong!)

My E36 M3's brakes were dreadful! lol. I fitted brembo discs, some pads (Can't remember what, pretty good ones though) some upgraded fluid and braided lines and they faded after about 5 laps of combe! I was a bit green to trackdays back then though so it could have been driver error!

    Buying parts off CS!

I've bought loads from here, absolutely loads, I've bank transferred other members money for cars on here before, never had an issue. (I think my record is £6k, to someone i've never met, for a car i've never seen! lol) The only issue i've ever had was me selling some damaged ph1 lights and...

Open the bonnet and look at them, get someone to sit in the car and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. You'll soon see. ;)

    Argh. Seized little f***er...any suggestions?

Tbh, if it's the front wheel, you could probably get enough heat into it by driving 2 miles with your foot on the brake.

    Argh. Seized little f***er...any suggestions?

Never going to happen! The paint will bubble (at best!) and the plastic will no doubt warp. I'll bet dollar dollar bills on it y0!

There's another vent on the side of the dash for the drivers window. Great idea though, looks brilliant.

    Argh. Seized little f***er...any suggestions?

Not that I've ever bothered with mate. For the sake of £10 for a new (ebay) centre cap and bolt I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. I always copper grease them now because they do seem to get seized quite easily.

    Argh. Seized little f***er...any suggestions?

Screwdriver in side of the cap and snap it off. You can then get mole grips on the bolt. (Yes, i've had to do it before)
