When using very fine papers to sand they fill up with the removed material very quickly so it the water cleans off the dust. The water lubricates the suface to help the finish become nice and smooth. The origional old school way I was taught to do it was with bars of hand soap. Now I mix up some...
Remind me to bring you some to try at the West Mids meet. I used to use it before if found the Vanilla Moose, not used it since!
True paint cleaner wise to remove oxidisation etc, I prefer klasse AIO. The increase shine, gloss and wetness VM.
The Megs Kit clay only comes as a kit, but you can buy other Clay bars on there own. I do this as I clay using soapy water.

To repair the grainy feel in the laquer, wait till the paint/laquer is nice and hard. Wet sand with some 2000 grit, and then polish, should come out all smooth and shiny.
NXT will remove the the Gold Class as it has light cleaners in it.
For best results you need to pre polish the paint first, so if the paint is in good shape, you are good to go with the NXT.
You can clean up wet sanding marks by hand, just will take lots longer than by machine.
I know this is extreme, but this took lots of passes with a PC and a cutting pad to sort.
I would be tempted to hire the compressor to.
Its all in the prep, take you time, allow everything to dry, rub down between coats etc.
Try and find somewhere, warm, dry and dust free to do it.
Using Metallic paint you will need to laquer.
Think thats always the case, as soon as you buy something a newer ones comes out.
Must say I am - Not overly impressed with my D500 but it still works, picked that last year and didnt know what to get when upgrading just because I could.
^^^^^ Nicely installed.
I went for the dock cable only option and just put mine in the glovebox after running the cable into there - as I hate any stuck on type brackets on the dash.
Did they have the W900 on O2 Si?
I called them the other day to upgrade mine as my contracts up and the woman said she didnt know when they where getting it in?
Considered the Type R when I was buying the 182, found them very different cars. If you like the CTR and the way it drives, then maybe its the car for you. Wasnt for me. My friend picked his CTR up a week after I got the 182, 5 + odd long drives back to back I am still glad of the choice I made.
