Drove my 309 GTi about 15 miles to get an new exhaust fitted when the centre section fell off from the down pipe back. Needed ear plugs, my misses at the time sat there the whole time covering her ears!

If you get the Meguiars Badged Porter cable you still need to get the transformer etc.

If it is down to the primer you will need to apply some touch up paint into the scratch first and then try to wet sand it. The deeper it is the harder it will be to fix. Try and build the layers of paint in multiple thin layers before trying :

Black Gold shows every mark, cant be beaten for looks when its clean though IMO, do it! Takes a lot of cleaning though.

Apply and work the product by PC, and remove my MF towel is the normal. You can use a pad and microber bonnet if you like though.
The Meguiars PC proper costs more thean the Porter Cable branded one from Autopia but does have a lufetime warrenty rather than a year.
Clean the car well, I prefer to dissolve clay with AG Tar remover rather than shear it off, and let clay get the rest.
When claying use plenty of lubricant ( I prefer a strong soapy water mix, on a pre wet panel/area from rather than the Quick detailer supplied), fold the clay often the give...
Balck gold has Gold Flecks in it in the sun, Pearl Black silver flecks.
Black Gold came on the 182, Pearl Black on the 172.
