Those wheels need putting in the bin mate, don't bother refurbing them.

I like the pictures (And I know nothing about photography!!!) but I also disliked the knees and that annoying electrical cable in the first shot.

By the time you fit them and some decent shocks, you're into coil over money.
I'd never fit after market springs and oem shocks. It's a pointless exercise.

VVT comes in at about 1800 rpm, so there will be VVT, you just don't notice it.
I'd suggest taking the car to someone reliable to get the timing checked.
I'd also suggest you stop using the Caps lock button because its really fcuking annoying.

In all the 172/182's ive tracked (most with brembo discs) I've never had a problem with warping. Ever.
