Aye well normally with water based paints (emulsion) you can get away with boiling water and a cloth. Oil based gloss's are an absolute nightmare but its not the end of the world, id certainly give that sticky stuff a bash, its a cheap alternative to clay bars/machine polishing....?

They just clip off mate 2 second jon, the only thing that's underneath is spot welds, unless the seam sealer is cracked it won't be under there. Take it easy taking them off tho.
