Built up the front hubs with calipers, discs, roll kit etc etc to test fit it all plus easier to store now too!
New Brembo disc fitted to hub, and cleaned up the grub screws
Caliper carrier fitted, cleaning up bolts and thread holes as we go
Caliper bolted up, sliders etc all cleaned and...
Bit more progress, cleaned up the bargain samco hoses, autoglym engine degreaser first, then soak in washing powder bath and quick scrub. Then many many rinsings
Come up lovely
Then trial fitted the 172 inner rods to the mk1 manual rack and all good, so just need to acquire some new...
wrong, well for me anyway, much prefer the dynamics of the mk1, find it much less snappy and more predictable on the limit.

Caliper pistons removed for checking seals and cleaning/painting
Rack cleaned and painted. Need to remove rods and rod ends to hopefully fit mk2 stuff
And hubs cleaned up and painted ready for new bearings
@Old Tarby! Even got the steering wheel stalk working to recently, although job wheel for change track doesn't want to play ball.
considering getting a Sony 6 disc changer and swapping under seat unit too so i can have the changer function but upgraded too :)
inners are a pain on axle stands and with subframe on tight. i'd just get garage do it. outers are as you say, easy
and yeah mindisc matey, for that period correct early 2000's upgrade, lol!
I did the pretty stuff, 11 years ago now think it was, and at that time sills were solid enough and jacking points were still there.... now they're not. Plus storing outside undercover has not been kind to the roof.
