My bad then, the bolts must be still attatched because they are not visible here.
Even so, bolted through the rim like that will never be strong enough surely? As all you are relying on is the head of the bolt??

I have a friend of a friend who designs and manufactures Coilover units for Proper heavy stuff. He's done work for TVR, Morgan etc.
He has just buils some for my mates completely custom built 7.2 V8 Aston.
My friend has (today actually) had some rear coilover units...

(And i'm really sorry, but that subframe that was on your shell, was it a williams one? I can't really measure it against mine as mine was/is battered and twisted.)

Today was a good day!! Grey one all stripped down, engine bay painted gloss black in the blue one, engine/subframe built up ready for nice dry paint tomorrow and we can start putting it all back together.
Ten hours well spent! Time...

Sat AM: Strip grey one down, go and weigh the shell in.
Sat PM: Paint the engine bay in the blue shell. Gloss black.
Sunday: Fit blue...

Just spent an hour loading the car onto the truck.
The big re-shell starts tomorrow and I cannot WAIT! :D
Of course it is! You clean it up with the wool/pad, then work it with a MF cloth to polish it.
I did my entire impreza exhaust and it was mirror perfect!
