Jim, i'm so glad you're back and WHAT a return!!!
I'm pretty sure the detailing section doesn't ever use swear words but I don't care, that write up and result was fcuking superb!!
:D
First of all, remove all those daft rear speakers. Again, if the worst happens they are fcuking heavy lumps that will smash you in the head and probably kill you. We don't want that.
Then decide if its a proper track car, sort the cage/harness situation out.
Also, if you're planning on...
Did it?? I don't think it did.
That car (^^^) has got the pre face lift interior, pre facelift grills, facelift front bumper and megane wheels.
(I'm not knocking it or insulting anyone, just pointing it out before anyone starts crying)
It looks ok in the pics, goes to the correct supports as the usual half cages. A few things concern me though,
I've never seen one before, is it home made? If not who manufactures them? and that would do nothing protecting you if you were t-boned on a track day. If you're building a track car...
Christ, I nearly fell off my chair! £745! LOL!!
The bonus is, that the guy who's been to see it and wants it was the second highest bidder. So if the winner pisses me about or doesn't collect within 4 days, I'll just sell it to the guy thats already seen it.
Well milly is fit, has good taste in girly cars AND is willing to get her hands dirty!
Good girl Milly! lol.
Back OT, that iron X stuff looks pretty impressive. Do you just spray it on the rinse off I assume? Or washing/agitating it may scrath the paint further?
I'm tempted to keep it and strap that tyranical cnut to the passenger seat and push it in the Bristol channel. I don't need £780 and I don't need him so its win win all round!
In all seriousness though, we were aiming to get £450 for it so whatever it goes for now is all a bonus. I never knew...
What holds the strut brace to the struts? 2 ten mm nuts! Thats all thats stopping you and a mate (20 stone if you're both skinny!) going through the window!
Apart from that, looks really good with a good spec!
When I worked at renault, there were a couple of times people brought their scenics in with the same issue.
I'm not saying its common, but its not unheard of.
I got one from an RAC man who had it surplus to requirements.
Its rated at 3.5 tonnes and mounts to a towbar. Epic bit of kit that is like towing a trailer.
Before that I had a halfords one and it was a bit pony. Although to be fair to it, I use them a lot and for what you'd use it for (once...
If the bolt has sheared off, trying to turn it with a screwdriver will be as much use as pissing in the wind.
Best bet is to drill it out and re-tap it.
Trade spec tyre shine is crap, I know because I use 5 litres a week!
It looks good because the cars don't go anywhere.
On my own car (That I drive every day) I use meguirs. Infinately more durable.
