You'd need to budget on an engine swap really. Either that or a full rebuild (which will cost more)
Its probably £6000 to sell once its running properly so will make a very cheap wagon!
Service history is key to the longevity of these engines/boxes/turbo's.
Just the usual used car checks.
And for the love of god make sure you do a PROPER hpi check on it!!
We get a few from Seat, they must be really special.... never had it with any other manufacturer though.
Supply a covering note, explaining whats wrong attatched to a letter from your local main renault dealer and they'll change it.

We've all done that, but tbh, as long as the car's a good'un is it really worth worrying about? If you keep it 4 years (about average for a used car buyer) then thats £500 a year. Its peanuts in the grand scheme of things.

New mercs/bm's etc are similar, in that the dealership pugs in the key and can fault find/reset stuff, but how the hell would it work on a car without an electronic key?!
How is it being fixed? Is it being welded? If its just fibre glassed and fillered it will crack again as the bumpers are very flexible.
