Couple more niggles sorted tonight, when indicating right the fog light light on the dash kept coming on, i'd already cleaned up the earths so it was the cluster itself on the rear of the car
so fitted new light panels I had in shed to it from phase 1 I broke years ago, sorted!
and then...
as above, piece of piss to change and no programming needed.
torx bits remove engine cover, 10/13mm deepsocket to get fuel rail guard off. 10mm remove the two retaining bolts for rail itself then prise the rail off, it'll feel like it ssticking a bit as the o ring seals hold it into the head on...
lol! no worries at all chap, I'm particularly OCD when it comes to this sort of thing, everyone always mentions how 'clean' my knackered old cars always smell inside. so when others can smell nothing I can! lol!!
Also received and fitted the boot net loops that were missing, removed the spare to add to the 4 other F1's from the car to be Powdercoated at some point
and I then removed and cleaned the boot carpet as previous owner has had a dog in the car and the boot is covered in hair and...
More progress today now the nights are longer!
I want to clean the arches etc when I fit the coilovers so decided against fitting them today but did the rear axle spacers and top engine mount insert though so that's done!
That means provided weather holds Saturday I can have a nice fun day...
Welcome back
pics of said Williams, love a mk1 ogle!
I'm not local but willing to help out over the forums if you have any issues or questions as best I can, had numerous mk1's over the years including a few williams'
great first outing by sounds of it!
and yes PAS is a PITA, more fluids = more problems, I binned mine off years ago and just run manual steering, brackets on block from a Renault 19 to delete pumps for AC and PAS etc and then just removed pipes from rack and done!lol! bit heavy manouvering but...
nice work!
Grip tape mats are great, been using them for years, but what I do is actually cut out the shape of a mat from a couple of strips and fit it, looks much much tidier that way ;-)
its not too bad but I'm a skinny little git so that helps! lol!
yeah the PMS is one of my favourite mods on the car tbh, lovely thing. and yeah hopefully she'll be out this year as last year was a write off and need some welding to the rear drivers sill, sigh....mk1 life! :-(
I had this on outside of my car when neighbours did something along lines of griding something and fallout all over car
used a claybar and it all came off the paint no worries. obviously turning it very very regularly to avoid scratching
be sure you have space when seat and steering wheel are in to get yourself over the bars and into the car too ;-)
mines a tight fit, but I don't have a quick release boss on wheel so have to go a bit contortionist to get in!lol!
tbh that's a lot less than I thought, I was going to pikie up the rear lines on the RB with the old splice and dice but for that price i'll replace them! cheers!
more bits acquired in 'no longer project standard' odyssey of doom!
decided as its not a daily car currently, I would add some more bolt on mods for a giggle, so acquired some vmaxx coilovers for next to nothing. Not exactly great suspension but aim here is just to 'go low' for a bit as imo...
