who says a 182 engine is quicker???? "fastest" engines (if that makes sense!) ae the 172 cup engines

could be any of the auxillary's (PAS pump etc) i've driven a few mk1's with really noisy diffs

yes i agree, Roamer the first person who developed the 172 TB's with Jenvey, his car was on std cams and it went like the clappers, 212bhp and 170lbsft (from memory) 40bhp gain shown from the same rollers (Power Engineering Uxbridge, and yes it did run 172bhp before any work!)

Stainless "should" be ok, the V6 ones are zinc plated steel i thought lasers are only accurate to 0.1/0.2mm?

yep 172 cup aux belt is a 15min job 172/182 with aircon its a 2hour job
