not totally, the theory is right, at full extension with very short springs a standard shocker would allow for the spring to unseat and rattle etc. however not true for the cooks, I didn't have to use spring compressors to fit them, but at full extension once holding nut was wound up tight there...
its getting spanner onto the bolts more than anything to slacken the rack mounts off from the subframe. inner arms again it just depends, if they are murder tight it'll be a fight!
35mm I think is the official spiel for cooksports?
not sure why they would cause an issue, I've used lower springs on standard shocks before in the mk1 with no issues at all, so I doubt its that.
and as said, mine is on standard top mounts, standard cup shockers and the cooksports and I have...
you reckon you guys have problems, try owning several mark 1's there is literally sod all left of that market now, died a death in the last couple of years :(
I've used them for years on the turbo, they were good but never great until I put RC6 pads in them, then they were savage!
never had a problem with them at all though, worked fine, never leaked and did a fair number of track days with them, only issue I did have was boiling the fluid, although...
heres cooksports with 15's at et37 195/50 R15 Michelin PE2's with 15mm front and 10mm rear spacers, they catch a bit from time to time. without the spacers they'd be fine, the standard wheels on this setup on 205 tyres and et43 don't rub at all ever

lovely little project, keep up the good work
as above though, don't risk the fun with those sheep plates for fools, get some nice pressed legal ones with legal font, they look the danglies!
i always use second hand performance parts, and stainless exhausts are a definite worthy second hand purchase, none of the depreciation of new and wont depreciate again either really, buy one for 250 max sell it on for 250, no loss for using it
RS192 is pretty much like standard, as is janspeed silenced version, yozza/scorpion etc are a bit more on the......rowdy side shall we say, sound awesome but really grate after a while ime
as above, just slap it in the garage if you have one or park it on the drive, in gear with handbrake off. I wouldn't even disconnect battery, just start the thing once a month to keep it topped up and that way your cars still alarmed if any scrotes try to nick it
I will try again one day, preferably in a half a grand crapper I don't care about, which is what i'm hoping the new track car will be.........sorry Danny ;)
it is weird driving other stuff, toy clutches in them in comparison, I like a nice heavy one but when they wear they do go a bit silly heavy, the RB is getting to the point of being a bit stupid really so needs doing. its far far heavier than the mk1 and that's got a 4 paddle helix effort in it!
I have one still, had it fitted 2007 and still working lovely simple alarm, does exactly what it says on the tin and during setup you can make sure installer turns off the crap you don't want like the proximity beeps etc. that's what I did
